Designed to cover the average housing fee for AUA or AUA-affiliated housing, so cost of living never stands between you and your medical education.
Up to $4,167 per trimester applied as a credit to your student ledger at the start of each non-repeating trimester, covering actual housing rent for both AUA-affiliated and non-affiliated housing.
The grant continues for each non-repeating trimester throughout your Pre-Clinical Sciences program — even if you leave AUA housing after the mandatory two terms, or are exempt from staying in it.
Sign the standard Housing Lease Agreement, stay in good academic standing, and comply with its terms. Students in non-affiliated housing simply submit a copy of their signed lease.
Students readmitted to the Fall 2026 cohort after an absence of one year or more are also eligible, subject to the grant terms.

Submit your application at AUAMED.org for the Fall 2026 MED1 class. The Housing Grant is offered with your admission.
Return the signed acceptance form to the Grants and Scholarships Coordinator, and sign the standard Housing Lease Agreement.
Submit your top three housing preferences. Assignments are first-deposited, first-served, subject to availability.
Up to $4,167 is credited to your ledger at the beginning of each non-repeating trimester.
By accepting the Housing Grant, you agree to comply fully with the provisions below.
Grant Value: New students entering MED1 in Fall 2026 will receive a Housing Grant of up to US $4,167 per trimester (non-repeating trimesters only) for the duration of their Pre-Clinical Science journey (MED1–MED6).
The Housing Grant will be applied as a credit of up to US $4,167 to each student's ledger at the beginning of each trimester (excluding any repeating trimesters).
The Housing Grant has a maximum cap of US $4,167 per trimester. This grant covers actual housing rent expenses of up to US $4,167 per trimester for both AUA-affiliated and non-affiliated housing. Students residing in non-affiliated housing must submit a copy of their signed housing lease agreement to receive the grant.
The Housing Grant will be considered when determining students' overall financial aid eligibility. The total assistance that a student receives from all sources, including the Housing Grant, cannot exceed the established cost of attendance.
Damage Deposit: When in AUA or AUA-affiliated housing, each resident is required to pay a US $1,000 refundable damage deposit.
Utilities: Students are fully responsible for utility costs based on actual usage.
Spouse/Partner/Family Member Fee: The standard fee for a spouse, partner, or adult family member (US $600 per term) is applicable to residents with a spouse, partner, or adult family member, and will be billed accordingly.
Students who are readmitted to the University after an absence of one year or more are eligible for the Housing Grant, subject to the terms above.
Preferences and Availability: Students are assigned to housing based on their top three housing preferences. Room assignments are subject to overall housing availability.
Priority Status: Accommodation assignments are determined on a first-deposited, first-served basis. Securing preferred housing is contingent upon the date the student's deposit is received.
Lease Agreement (AUA or AUA-Affiliated Housing): Students must sign the standard Housing Lease Agreement and are strictly bound by its full terms and conditions.
Academic Performance: Students must remain in good academic standing in order to remain eligible for the Housing Grant.
Remediation/Repeating: If a student fails a term, the Housing Grant will not be applied to the repeating term, and the student will be responsible for the full housing fee.
Reinstatement: If the student successfully passes the repeating term, the Housing Grant will be reinstated and applied to the subsequent term.
Withdrawal or Dismissal: If a student withdraws or is dismissed from the institution, the Housing Grant will be immediately discontinued. In accordance with AUA housing policy, the student must vacate the premises within 3–5 business days.
Readmission: If a student is later readmitted, he or she will not automatically receive the Housing Grant; instead, the student will be subject to housing policies and/or promotions that are active for their new incoming term.
Extended Leave of Absence (ELOA): The Housing Grant does not apply during an approved ELOA term. Students on an ELOA must vacate AUA housing within 3–5 business days per standard policy. To reactivate the Housing Grant upon return, students must submit a new housing application for their returning term, at which point the Housing Grant will become applicable again.
Suspension: The Housing Grant will be discontinued for students who receive a non-academic suspension, and the student will become fully responsible for the entire housing fee.
Appeals: Students will have the option to appeal directly to the Executive Housing Administration to request to have the Housing Grant reinstated.
The Housing Grant does not apply during repeated terms. You must sign the standard Housing Lease Agreement and comply with all its terms and conditions throughout your occupancy.
