Why come
Every medical school site says the same four things. What families want to know is harder to Google: whether this path really ends in a U.S. residency, what the four years feel like, and what it costs in the end. That is a conversation, and this is an hour of it.
The alumni in the room went to Antigua, sat the USMLE, matched, and are practising now. They will tell you what they wish they had known before they applied — including the parts admissions material tends to leave out.
Bring your GPA, your MCAT status, your transcript questions, your gap-year story. The admissions team can tell you where you stand for the January 2027 entering class and what would make your application stronger before you submit.
Accreditation, licensure, safety, cost, what happens if plans change — the questions parents ask are the right ones, and they get straight answers here rather than a redirect to a form.
AUA runs two schools. One takes you from high school or early undergrad through pre-med; the other is the MD program itself. Which one you should be applying to depends on where you are right now — and that is a five-minute conversation, not a research project.

Before you come
No. Come whether you have a score, a test date, or nothing booked yet. How the MCAT factors into an AUA application is one of the things the admissions team will walk you through — and the answer differs depending on which of the two schools you are applying to.
Yes, and we would rather they did. Much of the hour is aimed squarely at the questions families ask about cost, accreditation, safety and licensure. Bring whoever is helping you make the decision.
No. The event is free. We ask you to RSVP only so we know how many people to expect — the room has a limit.
It is not. Freshmen and sophomores are exactly who the AUA College of Arts and Sciences pathway is built for, and knowing the requirements early is worth more than a polished application later.
Come. A meaningful share of AUA students arrive after another degree or another career. Bring your transcript and we will tell you what still needs doing.
You can start an application and you can get advice on yours, but this is not a formal interview day. If a one-to-one conversation makes sense afterwards, an advisor will set it up with you before you leave.
An unofficial transcript, your MCAT score or test date if you have one, and your questions. Nothing else is required.
Register anyway and note it on the form. The admissions team runs online sessions and one-to-one calls throughout the term, and they will follow up with the next date that works for you.
